Katie Sager earned her B.A. in English from Florida State University, where she consistently made the Dean's List. She then went on to earn her J.D. from St. Thomas University School of Law. Ms. Sager finished in the top 5% of her graduating class and graduated with the prestigious academic honor of Magna Cum Laude.
During her law school career, Ms. Sager received Book Awards in several classes, including, Legal Research and Writing, Business Associations, Trial Advocacy Practice and Florida Constitutional Law. She also consistently made the Dean's List. In her final semester of law school, she was the recipient of the Miami Division of Criminal Defense Lawyers Top Litigation and Legal Writing Student Award.
In addition to excelling academically, Ms. Sager also participated in extracurricular activities and a variety of legal internships while in law school. She was an active member of the St. Thomas Moot Court Team and Secretary of the Florida Association of Women Lawyers, St. Thomas chapter. Ms. Sager served as a judicial intern in the Domestic Violence division and was a legal intern with the Office of the City Attorney for the City of Miami. Ms. Sager also held the position of Certified Legal Intern with the Miami-Dade County State Attorney's Office.
Ms. Sager practices in the area of family and marital law. She has experience representing individuals in a variety of family and marital law matters, including Divorce, Modification and Enforcement of Marital Settlement Agreements, Time-sharing and Parenting Plans, Alimony and Child Support, Prenuptial and Postnuptial Agreements, Domestic Violence, Probate Litigation and Administration, and Guardianship Litigation and Administration.
Ms. Sager is appointed by judges as a Guardian Ad Litem, which is a neutral third-party appointed to act as a next of friend of the child, investigator or evaluator, to advance the best interest of the child in a particular case.
Ms. Sager also participates in the Put Something Back Project, which is a pro bono program provided by the Dade County Bar Association and the Eleventh Judicial Circuit. As a participating attorney in the Put Something Back Project, Ms. Sager provides her legal services on a pro bono basis to clients who qualify for participation in the program.
