Ms. Pereira earned her Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University School of Law and graduated Cum Laude. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology, from Florida International University. Ms. Pereira worked in the field of Real Estate and Psychiatry during her undergraduate studies.
Ms. Pereira was a recurring Dean’s list and scholarship recipient while in law school and she served as the Symposium and Article Procurement Editor for the St. Thomas Intercultural Human Rights Law Review. She organized and took part as a panel speaker, focusing her discussion on Cuban social movements, in the St. Thomas University School of Law Intercultural Human Rights Law Review, 11th Annual Symposium titled: “The Power of A Voice: Rewriting Policy and Implementing Change Through Protest Movements.”
Ms. Pereira was also an active member of Phi Delta Phi International Legal Honor Society and Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity in law school. She was an intern for the Honorable Mindy S. Glazer, Circuit Judge, in the Family Division of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit in Miami.
Ms. Pereira began her legal career at Christy L. Hertz, P.A., as a law clerk. She was also a law clerk at Richard A. Schurr, P.A. Ms. Pereira was able to excel academically in law school while working simultaneously. She gained valuable experience in family law, probate administration, business and corporate litigation, transactional law, estates and trusts, and mediation.
Ms. Pereira practices in the area of family and marital law, including Divorce, Modification and Enforcement of Marital Settlement Agreements, Time-sharing and Parenting Plans, Alimony and Support, Prenuptial, Domestic Violence, Probate Litigation and Administration, and Guardianship Litigation and Administration.
Ms. Pereira is Cuban-American with deep roots in the Hispanic community and speaks fluent Spanish.
